Thistlebridge operates on a simple economic foundation: the house is paid off, critical systems have been updated, the greenhouse is built, ongoing costs are minimal. This is what makes it viable as an experimental site — there's no business model that needs to work, just a low-cost base from which to explore.

That said, help is welcome.

What Would Help

Funding without strings. Money that supports the work without requiring specific deliverables or timelines. This project operates on research time, not production time.

Technical collaboration. People with experience in local AI deployment, documentation systems, sensor networks, or greenhouse automation who want to think through problems together.

Aligned organizations. If you represent a foundation, research institution, or funding body interested in practical AI applications, community resilience, or alternative education models — we should talk.

Current Structure

Thistlebridge currently operates as a personal project. Contributions are appreciated but are not tax-deductible.

A separate nonprofit entity for replication work and community training is in planning. If you're an organization that requires a 501(c)(3) structure for funding, we can discuss timing and options.
